Criminal defense in Boise

You're more than the charge on that paper

A charge lands on a whole family. I'm Elias Mensah, a defense lawyer here in Boise. I'll tell you plainly where you stand, what happens next and what we can do about it.

If this just happened

What to do this week

  • Don't talk about what happened with the police, friends or anyone online. Say you'd like a lawyer, and leave it there.
  • Keep every paper you were handed: the citation, the bond slip, the notice of your court date.
  • Write down what you remember, while it's fresh. Just for us.
  • Call before your first court date. There's often more time to work with than it feels like, but not always.

The first conversation is about you and what happened. You'll leave it knowing what the charge means, what the next month looks like and what I'd charge to handle it.

Who you'll work with

    Elias Mensah

    Defense attorney

I've spent my whole career on the defense side, first investigating cases for a public defender's office, then in my own practice. I take a small number of cases so I can answer my own phone, meet you in person and walk into court knowing your file.

In their words

From people who sat where you are

“I'd never been in trouble before and I couldn't sleep. Elias explained every step before it happened, so court was the least surprising day of the whole thing.”

Jordan T.DUI client

“My son was the one charged, but I was the one calling. Elias never made me feel like a bother, and he talked to my son like an adult.”

Rosa M.A client's mother

“A ten-year-old case kept costing me jobs. He told me honestly what could be done about it, filed the petition and showed up with me to the hearing.”

Dana K.Record-clearing client

Every case is different. What happened for these clients doesn't predict what will happen in yours.

Call, or send a short note with your name and your court date. I'll get back to you myself.

Please keep the details for our conversation; don't send them through the site.
